Yes Liem routinely gets his levels checked (IGG). About once every three months. His first came back low enough for treatment (IVIG) in march of '07. Before that it always came back border line. But I'm pretty sure that the cut off was 500, because his would always come back just above that.(although I very well could be wrong, I can check on that for you next week at Liem's appt.) But in March of '07 his came back in the 400's and they started him immediately on a monthly (every 28 days) IVIG infusion for 6 months. He needed to be HEAVILY pre-medicated due to him being allergic to it. Before Liem started it we seemed to be in the hospital sometimes 3x's or more a month due to fevers, and his counts were always so low. They would only rise during steroid week and then slowly plummet the rest of the month. I used to pray for him to make counts til steroid week, but most of the time he wouldn't. I'm telling you all of this because ever since he finished the IVIG treatment his counts have been GREAT...actually too good and we were having to up, up, and up 6mp for a while...but we've hit the right spot or something because ( knock on wood) his counts have been steady for months now and no fevers. We still ask for IGG levels to be done, and they've been on the low end, but not low enough for treatment.

Oh that sucks! If we're supposed to live by those counts, what the heck does that mean that they're not reliable. So, now you just have to assume that they're always low and live like refugees?
